My dell laptop

My freind gave me a laptop,

it had windows 2000 on it, i formatted it and put xp on it, after setup was complete it took me into windows fine.

wheneva i reboot it, it gives me the dell logo screen then the windows xp screen then nothing, the screen it black; nothing; nothing; nothing!!!

although u can see the screen change darkness, and you can hear the windows entrance jingle but u cant see a thing

i tryed booting it in safe mode and it worked!!!

What can i try,

have you installed the xp video driver,you will need to d/l it from dell

press F8 just like u do to go to safe mode and select the option about the video instead of safemode
