HP dv9000 Sound Problems

I have an HP dv9208nr that came with vista. I just removed vista and put xp on it. Originally nothing worked. So I started downloading all the drivers from the HP website and now I've got everything working except sound.

Here is the link to my machine at the HP website: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/p...&lang=en&cc=us

I've tried the XP drivers for the sound card and even the vista driver, nothing seems to work.

Re: HP dv9000 Sound Problems

I fixed the sound problem. Not exactly sure what I did, but it works now. However, my USB is going REALLY slow. A window pops up that says that I need to install a "HI-SPEED USB host controller to this computer to obtain maximum performance." I really have no idea what this means...

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: HP dv9000 Sound Problems

Hey.

I have the same problems with the sound driver as you had. can you try to explain to me, what you did, to make it work. even though you arent 100% sure of what you did.

Thanks in advance
