Strange Sound Problem
I have a Toshiba Satellite A85 laptop. About a week ago, I had the RAM upgraded to 1 GB. A friend of mine who is the IT at a company did the work for me and everything was fine. I used it a few times and the computer was extremely fast and wonderful. Well, the other day I opened the lid and started it up and right as I started it up a LOUD humming noise began emitting from my speakers. I am positive it is not the fan because I have a volume knob on the outside of my computer and when I turn it up or down it changes which speaker the humming comes from. Also when I tried to play any sort of music it was barely audible. I turned the computer completely off and left it and tried to use it the next day, but it did the same thing. I tried to take it to the local computer guy who fixed another of our computer but he said basically he did not want to work on it. So I was wondering if anyone had ever heard of a problem like this and what might be the cause. I have had the computer for almost 3 years and have not had any problems with it and also is not covered by the warranty.
