Averatec 6100 laptop won't power up

I have an Averatec 6100 laptop that suddenly won't power up. I tried bypassing the battery and running off AC, but that doesn't seem to be the problem. Any ideas on how fix this?

What exactly happens when you push the power button?

Nothing at all happens when I push the power button.

See if you have a multimeter to test the power supply of the laptop. Also, do you see any lights indicating the laptop is receiving power or lights indicating the battery status?
