laptop comes to almost a stop

i have a dell inspiron 8200 that came to almost a complete stop. it took almost 15 minutes to get to desk top and large amount of time between pages and commands.after shutting it down and restarting several times,i gave up. turned it on this morning and it took a little while to boot,but wasnt bad. displayed system has just recoverd from serious error, and gave me option to send report.........any thoughts?

p.s. afterwards seem to be ok,just a little slow. matthew dale

you need to post any errors in full
look in the event viewer and see if there is anything relevant there
check the air intake slots are clear of dust
