how do i get the scroll buttons on my laptop to work

i just bought a used averatec laptop and the scroll buttons dont work do i need to download software or could some1 help me troubleshoot

The scroll feature on the touchpad? You probably need the touchpad driver for that. What model is it?

You will have to know the exact model number. This is usually found on the underside of the laptop.
