Slow wifi with Advent 7105p
Hi everyone,
My wife has an advent 7105 laptop running XP and the wifi connection is very very slow. The info box says the connection is connected at between 2 and 10 Mbps, never higher and usually nearer the 2. I have a laptop and it runs at speeds you would expect broadband to run at. The wireless router is a 2wire 1800. Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? Thanks Toby |

Re: Slow wifi with Advent 7105p
You should delete any cookies and archives saved in your internet.
Right click on Internet, properties and in General you will see delete. Then you shall see the net run faster but in any case if this doesnt happen I recommend you update to SP2 if you havent done so already. And also download Internet Explorer 7.0. If this is a hasle then it is easier also to reinstall your WLAN driver, which you can find on the homepage of Advent Last edited by Terrister; 08-13-2007 at 05:40 PM. Re: Slow wifi with Advent 7105p
go to 192.168.1.254 to open up your router settings
Click on home network Click on wireless settings Enter your system password ( The first password you made when setting up the 2wire ) Change the wireless channel to 10 Change the power to 9 or 10. This will fix most 2wire related wifi issues. Also make sure that CAt5 isnt running slow as well. |
