graphics card question
can u change a graphics card in a laptop? i have a hp dv6500t and i was going to change the 383MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS graphics card with a 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT, but im not sure if im able to. the graphics card in the hp is discrete. does that mean i would be able to change it?

i seriously doubt it.there are very few laptops that can do that,and they are very expensive.i dont think hp has ever had a model with interchangable video cards.

it uses shared ram so that indicates it does not have a video card only a chip and you are stuck with what you have

Only if it uses the MXM Interface can you swap it. Unfortunately that laptop has a proprietary interface for the graphics cards. MXM isn't too common.
