Buying a 2nd hand laptop
Just want some expert's advise on a second hand laptop, does it worth 500 CAD to get this?
Dell Dimension E520 Pentium D Processor 925 with Dual Core 3GHz, 800FSB 2 GB Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz - 3DIMM (1GB, 512MB, 512MB) Windows XP Home Edition Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3000 Integrated 10/100 Ethernet Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio 16x DVD+/-RW Drive Dell 2-button USB mouse and Keyboard Seagate Barracuda ES ST3500630NS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive It's 2 months old and its from a friend, so nothing really have to worry about but the price, Thanks. |

I would see if it can be configured with a Core 2 Duo and/or dual channel memory.

If you get 2 x 1 GB instead of 1 x 1 GB and 2 x 512 MB, it will be dual channel.

See what this computer is selling for on E-bay. That will give you an idea of what it is worth. You can always upgrade it later with the above suggestions if needed.
