Pin How Do I Connect My Laptop to PC

Hi,

I am looking for an easy way to connect my HP 500 Notebook with my PC. I want to transfer files like music and pictures to and fro from PC and the notebook. Please suggest how should I go about doing this.
Both the PC and the notebook are on Windows XP Pro.

Thanks.

Re: How Do I Connect My Laptop to PC

If they are on a network tied together by a router you can use file sharing within Windows to move things around. A crossover cable between the two can also be used to the same effect.

Thanks for the reply ebackhus. They are not tied together by a router.
By crossover cable do you mean the cable that is plugged into the NIC of my PC through the router?
I mean can I put the end which is plugged into the router, into the NIC of the notebook and make a connection?

Thanks

Re: How Do I Connect My Laptop to PC

If you don't wanna use a router then you'll need a crossover cable, which is quite different from a patch cable.
