Memory not recognized

Ok... here goes: I installed 2 GB of memory to my laptop (HP Pavilion dv9207us) and yet it still reads 1GB in windows... is my computer not recognizing the memory? I run Vista Home Premium... any help appreciated, thanks!

Hi,

Did you just install another stick of 1 GB? If so, make sure it is seated properly. Did you hear it click into place and do you see both clips in the notches at the sides?

Your memory should look something like this when installed correctly:
