Inspiron 1000 Dell WinXp

I have two Dell Inspiron 1000 WinXp laptops... One of them says it has a virus of some sort, I was wondering how to reformat or clean out the whole laptop. My other laptop doesnt turn on. Nothing appears on the screen when i try to turn it on and the power button doesnt light up if i do press it to turn it on. I was thinkin that it may need a new battery or something...

Anyways...can someone please help me with both of my problems...

Re: Inspiron 1000 Dell WinXp

Do you have the restore disk for this model or any legal XP disc you can use?
The laptop you can not power up, are you using the same power supply as the one that has a virus or are you using a different one. The battery will not cause it to not bbot up. It could be a vaulty power supply or something internal in that laptop

If you want to try to repair the one with the virus without having to wipe the system, see the instructions below.
