After formating fat32 to ntfs still having problems unzipping .rar files bigger than
I have an Acer Aspire 5760. It came with a HD in 2 partitions, but both were FAT32. I wanted to work with files that were bigger than 4 gb so I formated the "data" partition to be NTFS. After doing this I was able to unzip a .rar file that when opened was bigger than 4 gb, however, now when I try to unzip .rar files (that when unzipped are bigger than 4 gb) I get an error message saying that only NTFS hard drives can accept files over 4 gb. I already formated it and if I open my computer and click on the drive the details say NTFS. Any ideas on whats going on?
Thank you for any help |

Re: After formating fat32 to ntfs still having problems unzipping .rar files bigger t
The rar file is being unzipped in a temp directory on the C drive before going to the location you choose. The easiest fix is to move your temp directory to the D drive.
To do this, go to the D drive. Make a directory on D called temp. Now go to the system control panel, advance tab. Click on the environment varibles button. At the top you will see temp and tmp. Click edit on the 1st. Chsnge the value to d:\temp. Do the same for tmp. OK, apply and ok. Not sure if you have to reboot after that.
