Exclamation Dell Battery Issue

Hey all,

I've got a Dell Latitude D600, 512mb RAM, 40gbHD, Pentium M 1.4GHz, dell computer corp. a11 4/26/2004 BIOS, Windows XP Home SP2.

I've got a problem with my battery's health meter physically on the laptop, the little light that flickers red when it's about to die. The problem is that it flickers about 4 times red and then one time green, and then it goes red again. It holds the charge and there are no issues with charging it(there is also no problem with the charge being read in XP), the light just seems to have seizures. When the battery is taken out and just the power supply is plugged in, there is no problem. What could possibly be the problem? A change that I had made recently was an update to the gv3.sys file because it kept giving me a blue error screen, and heres what i did to fix it http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888399 but that is the only thing i have updated. Any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

Re: Dell Battery Issue

Hi, and welcome to TSF!

I am not exactly sure I understand the problem. Is the light only the issue? This could very well be normal behavior because of the way batteries loose voltage when dying.
