Inspiron 8500 help. thank you!!

I have a inspiron 8500 from dell. I shut it off today and all the lights went black. and it will not turn back on. when i plug it in the lights do not show. i've tried the following things
-taken battery out
-reset powerbar
-unplugged-plugged in
-fn/power diag

this happens often. normally i just leave it on because of it and this time i had to reset it. Now it will not come back on. Also if i knock it around a little it will turn on.

I appreciate any help to aim me in the right direction to fix this problem. To have dell do it will be like buying a new laptop. I'm new to this forum but i will be here for a while and will always offer my help to anyone who needs it.
thank you all very much!

Hi, and welcome to TSF!

It sounds like the solder connection between the motherboard and jack has been broken. If you take it to a local shop they should be able to fix it.
