Windows Stop Message: Driver problem

Hi there!

I have already made a post about it before and I thought the problem was sorted. My Toshibs laptop recently started to get Windows stop messages when I try and play DVDs sometimes and there were some older discs I couldn't play. As advised, I installed the DVD driver and an updated BIOS driver and it seemed to work perfectly fine again. The problem with not being able to read older discs has been fixed but I still get the Windows Stop messages.

The stop message:

0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x806EE753, 0xF899AC28, 0xF899A924)

Wondering whether there is anything else I can do or should i contact Toshiba about a possible problem with the drive itself?

Re: Windows Stop Message: Driver problem

you need to post the full error message
the bottom left usually pin points the problem without that i don't know if this applies or not

Re: Windows Stop Message: Driver problem

I don't think there was anthing else to it...
It said something about BIOS memory at the beginning then it displayed the above error message, and then it ended by saying something about a physical memory dump? There wasn't anything else in the message...

Also, the problem I had previously about older discs not being read has started happening again. I now get "D:\ acces denied" again. Do you think maybe something is wrong with the actual DVD drive?

Re: Windows Stop Message: Driver problem

turn off the auto reboot so it freezes on the bsod error
c/panel/system/advanced/startup and recovery
untick the auto reboot box
it could be the drive or some other h/ware or software it is hard to nail down
been through dozens of posts but cannot find a match for the last 3 sets of numbers

Re: Windows Stop Message: Driver problem

there should definately be more info on the screen when the stop occurs. you should see something that appers to be a file name or device driver name. there are several instances where the stop 07 with the c0000005 parameter may occur, now you need to narrow it down. the most common seems to be with non-intel based computers
