Laugh high temp!!

hi there! ive just ran mobmeter to see why my laptop seemed so hot and its telling me the frquency is 1.73 ghz... i dont no what that means, but maybe thats why the tempature is 53.3 C. which is quite higher than normal. normally its running on a 800 mhz frequency. so what could be making my laptop so hot?!
thanks for your help!

Re: high temp!!

Check that the cooling fan is working and the vents are clean of dust. You can use canned air to blow out the cooling vents.

Re: high temp!!

It is a 2 gig cpu. It will change speeds as needed to save power and will slow down if it gets to hot. Is it locking up or having any other problem due to the heat?

Re: high temp!!

hey! no its not doing anything to the preformance of the system but its getting hot quickly, even wen nothing is open. and i know having the laptop at these tempretures for a long interval isnt good. could it be a processes running in the back, that could be making it run at 1.73?

Re: high temp!!

Download and run this program. http://www.pbus-167.com/
It lets you have more control over the speed your laptop runs at and does temp monitoring.
