IBM 380XD came in the mail today,,no kidding
Yep ,just got a blast from the past delivered today
I.B.M. think pad 380XD with g-e-n-u-i-n-e intell pentium mmx inside my intention is to have fun with it and use it as a "legacy" machine for e-mailing and news surfing and the occasional "loaner laptop" now heres where i could use some help, I really want to upgrade it to the max . how biggerfasterbetter can i make it? where do i get upgrade parts for something so old? since it wasn't intended for windows ME, where can i find some windows NT or95 to re-install? the power supply i can dig up on my own. This is gonna be a blast to fool around with. I will keep you posted |

What are the exact specs on the machine?
The most you can realistically hope to upgrade are the hard drive and the RAM, but that can do a lot for an old machine. I'd check out Linux if you haven't already- there are some slim but very capable distributions that run well on old hardware.

I would wipe Windows and put DSL on it. Anything else will be very slow.
