Sony Viao Zapped to Death.
I have a Sony Vaio that I after walking across the room I reach out and touched the usb mouse before grounding myself
. A HUGE bolt of lightening went between my finger and the mouse. Screen went back and computer will not come back on. I know I fried something but what..motherboard, area around usb port.. Do you think it is something that can be fixed reasonably? Willing to put some money into it, I won it and it is valued at about $1500+.No one I trust around here to fix it, is Sony support a good place to send it. Any comments and suggestions welcomed. Thank you for your time. Patti |

Re: Sony Viao Zapped to Death.
So when you push the power button nothing happens at all?
Do you hear any fans or anything or does the screen just not come on or does it get to a certain point then shut off/restart? It probably either fried the psu or motherboard (if it doesn't power on at all). - I would try using a replacement ac adapter and see if it just fried that. Pull the battery out when you do this. - If that doesn't work your mobo is most likely damaged. Labor on replacing motherboards is expensive if you can't do it yourself or if you know somebody.
