Cry Tv Tuner Trouble

Hey guys,
recently i bought a Smart TV Card aka TV Tuner aka Philips SAA7134 Hybrid Capture Device. Its one of those PCMCIA cards, i think. I installed the drivers and plugged it in and configured all the tv channels and everything. Only problem is i have no sound,
My pc sounds, ie music , run fine, however there is no sound coming from the tv tuner.
The video is fine, and when i press the pause button and then play, for some reason sound comes through, though i think it starts to record the tv show, and the sound comes in through all glitchy.

Ive tried all the different settings but nothing seems to work. I plugged in speakers and headphones and that doesnt make a difference.
Im not sure what else to do.
Anyone got any ideas??

Hi Timmy,

Are you using coax to connect the device to the tuner or another interface? Make sure you have audio hooked up.

Re: Tv Tuner Trouble

Hey,
well in the pack the tuner came with a little portable aerial and i also just plug in my normal aerial cable from home, so im not sure if its coaxial. Both cables connect directly into the tv tuner.
Both cables are the same and have just a normal standard aerial cable connection.

With the audio, well i tried connecting speakers and headphone but still no audio from the tv. All other windows sounds, ie startup and music are working fine.

I have Windows Vista Premium, and it comes with Media Center, so i tried setting up the tuner that way, but media center cannot even detect the tuner .
Currently i am using a program called InterVideo WinDVR 3.

Re: Tv Tuner Trouble

I also just installed mediaportal, but still the same thing as media center, it cant detect the tv card.
I read somewhere that it may be the driiver that is stopping media center from detecting the card because its uses different dirvers or something like that. However im not sure what other driver to get.

Re: Tv Tuner Trouble

Okay, figured out that im using a coax cable, which plugs into the tv tuner. It also has the RCA inputs (Red, White and Yellow Cables) as well as input for S-video.
Hope this helps.
