Sony Vaio BX297

Hi, i've got a Sony Vaio BX297 Running XP.

Tried to run the recovery on it but it's not working.

I didn't create the DVD's like a bone head, but I went for the recover from The recovery partition.

The laptop boots past the splash screen and then tries to enter the recover software, then it reboots, goes past the splash screen tries to enter the recover software again, the reboots and repeat the process. Thats all it keep doing.

Can't get the unit to go back into windows or anything. It's just stuck in a loop trying to enter the recovery software.

Anybody know of any idea's how I can sort this bad boy out.

Cheers

James.

Hi James,

See if you can press F8 to enter the Windows boot menu. Also, see if you can get into the BIOS.

What button did you push to use the Recovery partition?

Re: Sony Vaio BX297

Hi, I tried pressing F8 but it doesn't do anything.

To start the recovery, I opened up the recovery software while in windows, select the relevant options and then started it, the unit then restarts and starts the recovery, however, it is now just stuck in a loop trying to start the recovery.
