laptop freezing ?? please help me ??
Hello,
I have laptop with following configuration Intel Pentium 4 1.60 GHz 256 MB RAM 20 GB Hard drive Window XP professional service pack 2 For some reasons its freezing ….so far I have tried following solutions 1) Ran Norton antivirus with all latest live updates, result okay 2) Ran Microsoft defender, everything came out fine 3) Disabled all startup files 4) Performed disk clean up 5) Cleaned all temporary internet files Is anything I am missing in here please let me know ….its run faster in safe mode then normal mode ..but even freezing in safe mode too … Its Gateway laptop and I m not sure if its fan supposes to run continuously bcoz sometimes I hear fan running and sometimes not …. So any other suggestions please help me with that How can I check if all of my hardware is running okay ????? |

Hi,
If the problem started recently, try a system restore to before this happened. Also, try booting from the last known good configuration. Also, please post the temperatures MobileMeter displays and also run Memtest86 from my sig for at least 10 hours. Be sure to run memtest86 on each stick of RAM individually.
