New laptop and need to move Files
Im getting a new computer because my last computer crashed. I lost all my music on the computer except what was on my Creative ZEN Portable media center. Is there a program of some way of getting all of my music/videos to my new computer?
Thanks. |

Re: New laptop and need to move Files
Hi,
How does the Creative Zen media center connect to the computer? If it connects via USB or another standard interface, then you can simply copy files to the new computer from the media center. BTW, did the hard drive crash from the old computer? If that didn't, then you can recover the data off the old hard drive by putting it in an external enclosure. If you post the model of the old laptop, I can find an external enclosure for it's hard drive. It will be pretty cheap, around $10 - $15.

Re: New laptop and need to move Files
Emachines have had a lot of problems with dead power supplies.
If that is the case with yours, the data on the hard drive should still be there. Like TheMatt said, a hard drive enclosure will let you access this data. Any of the 3.5 units below should work for you. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...asp?CatId=2777 Quick question, Is your new computer a laptop?

Re: New laptop and need to move Files
Make sure you get the right enclosure. You will need either SATA or IDE. If it is newer, than SATA will be more likely what you need.

Re: New laptop and need to move Files
In that case, it should use IDE. Anyone of the following should work great. It should also include instructions:
