Acer Travelmate 4500 Capacitor Problem

Hello,

As you can see by the title of this thread I have got a question about capacitors.

Recently my laptop died on me - I gave it to my mate's dad, and he builds computers for a living. He has told me my capacitor had died.

I just want to know - can I replace it, or get it fixed and how much would that be roughly?

Hi Adam,

Basically, you will need a new motherboard for the laptop. If a capacitor had leaked or was damaged, then you need to send it back to the manufacturer or see if you can find a new motherboard online. Unfortunately, motherboards for a specific model are very tough to find, so taking it down to a local PC shop is also another option.

You're welcome.

If your laptop is still under warranty, the warranty will most likely cover this.
