Thumbs Down Re: A short question...

No, at least from what I can see of your system, to try and be sure it would help us to identify the motherboard, everest in my sig is a good aid to doing that, but I suspect it will be a no on what I've found out so far, it only appears to support DDR ram as best I can see.

Re: A short question...

Hi,

Your laptop does not take DDR2 RAM. It takes DDR RAM that is either 266 MHz, 333 MHz, or 400 MHz.

I believe your laptop came with 256 MB installed. I would upgrade to 2 x 512 MB rather than getting a 1 GB stick so you will obtain the benefits of dual channel.

Take a look at two of these sticks:

EDIT: Darn, 8210GUY beat me to it.

Re: A short question...

Thanks Matt and 8210… you guys are the best!!!

I didn’t think it would work, the price was the deal…. 70 bucks for a 1 gig stick. Crucial wants around $110 for 1 gig of the ‘right’ stuff. It’s available cheaper, but I always kinda’ liked Crucial.

The little Dell is currently at 512mb, [2x256], and it runs OK. What it really needs is a 7200rpm HD.

Where I found the DDR2 was here;

Kind of general purpose electronics. Some of it is overpriced junk, But if you know what you want….

Thanks again!!
