4 temp sensors?
Hi all, in my Acer Aspire 3020, according to SpeedFan, I have 4 temp sensors:
HD0:53C Temp1:72C Temp2:58C Temp3:63C Anyone know what the ambiguous Temps might be for, and if they are in the acceptable range? I'm soon going to buy a can of compressed air and give the system a clean...

Re: 4 temp sensors?
Hi,
Download MobileMeter from my sig and see what it gives for the main temperature. Whatever reading from SpeedFan is the same is your CPU temperature. BTW, none of those temps should exceed 70 degrees, so if Temp1 is the CPU, you should clean out the dust and see how much that will lower temps. One of the other temps will be your chipset temp, and the other might be another sensor on the motherboard somewhere.

Re: 4 temp sensors?
Your program gives similar results...
Frequency 1.83GHz Temperature 60.0C Temperature 51.0C Temperature 57.0C Charge Rate 0.00W HDD #0 52.0C So do you think that the highest one (either 60C or 72C) is my CPU? Is that the most important i.e. is that the one that is most likely to overheat?

Re: 4 temp sensors?
The highest one is likely correct. Are those idle temps or load temps?

Re: 4 temp sensors?
I'm not exactly sure about idle/load, but my laptop runs 24/7 with only iTunes, SpeedFan, uTorrent, AVG and occasionally Firefox. I've never seen the temps any different, so I guess they are the small, constant load temps...
;)

Re: 4 temp sensors?
If you aren't doing anything on the computer but it is on, those are your idle temps. You can get an idea of your load temps by running a balanced Prime95 torture test for 15 - 30 seconds. All temperatures shouldn't exceed 70 degrees.
