My Compaq Armada E500 (with Win 2000) laptop is restarting continuously
Hi, My Compaq Armada E500 (with Win 2000) laptop is restarting continuously. Please help me in solving or identifying the problem
More details: 1. It is restrating continuously for every 15 seconds with out me doing anything. I just connected the Power cable. 2.Power swith on/off button not responding. And NO SCREEN display 3.Excpet Battery charging light all of glowing for that 15 seconds. 4. I removed power connection tryied to start with Battery only. Its not starting . Now power indicators at all. 5. Yesterday, I ran Windows 2000 disk defragmentor. Before going bed, I pressed standby mode button. And this morning when I tried to bring it to normal mode it re-started continuously. Thanks a lot in Advance for your time. ~Bhim |

Does the laptop restart or shut down? If it is restarting, I suggest you perform a repair installation of Windows 2000. http://www.windows2000.windowsreinst...pair/index.htm

If you hook up an external monitor to the laptop and then turn it on, do you get a picture?

Try removing the ac power and the battery. Now hold down the power button.
Now put the battery back in and plug in ac power. Sometimes this will get the laptop unhung.
