Guys, I've got a very cold sweat and Im panicking about my laptop!
It crashed on me and It couldn't do anything so I switched it off. I came back to it a short while later and when I tried to switch it on, I get a black test screen with like white pin-stripes on the screen. I don't know if the laptop itself is wrong or just the screen. But I am worried sick and shaking like a leaf here! Some one please help me! |

My laptop is a Toshiba Qosmio F10 bought it mid 2005 so its about 1.5 years old the screen is just weird. Black with pin stripes running vertically. No I haven't installed any new software or hardware. I was just working away in Word and Photoshop when it went AWOL. So I had to switch it off.

Re: Urgent! Laptop Help!
Can you boot the system into Safe Mode? It may be a graphics driver issue or the lcd screen itself.
Im moving this to the laptop forum where this issue may be familiar with our techs over there

Its a possibility that it could be your display so if you have access to an external monitor I would try that. Another thing is it could be a HD problem as I have an IBM T43 that is doing the same thing but when I change out the HD for a different one of the same model it works just fine. Third and probably the one you dont want to know is if it is doing it upon boot and while booting the chances of it being non-hardware related are slim. Bad thing is you are under no warranty at this time (Unless you purchased an extended warranty) Try the monitor also try another hard-drive if you have access if those dont work I hate to tell you it is probably a System Board error which is what I was thinking to begin with but I didnt want you to get all worked up just in case it wasnt. I hope its not. Let me know if I can be of further assistance. Thanks!! Iggy |
