Replacement Battery

I have a Sony Vaio and bought a replacement battery but when I installed it and charged it and then opened my computer I got a message that said the battery either was not connected properly or was not compatible with my computer.

The battery slides in and fit the computer and next to the original battery looks exactly the same.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I am moving this over to the laptop section.

Look at the numbers on both batteries. Post both here.
