I thought it would never happen to me...I dropped my laptop

Hey Guys
I'm new to this forum, so hello to everyone

I dropped my toshiba laptop, it wasn't much of a fall but enough to stop it from powering up. When I try to switch on, it stays on for about 5-7secs and then powers off.

I am wondering if there is a loose connection somewhere, but not quite sure where to look. I have checked the hard drive and it seems fines.

Any ideas, thoughts, suggestion? pls

Thanks

Hi,

Have you tried reseating the RAM and running the laptop with one stick, then the other?

Do you get any beeps on startup?

Re: I thought it would never happen to me...I dropped my laptop

I took out the hard drive and reconnected that; but I am not quite sure how to get to the RAM. I have a Toshiba Equium A60 and there are 3 easy to reach opening (after under screwing) are you able to tell me how to get to the RAM?

Regarding the beep, no beep when I turn it on. The fan comes on about 5 -7 secs later it goes out

Thanks

It should be under an easy to get to panel under the laptop. Maybe one screw.
Make sure you unplug it and remove the battery before removing the ram.

Thanks Terrister

I checked the RAM, its fine. I have passed it on to an expert; will let you know the update, if you are interested.

Once again, thanks for your help.
