Buying advice
I haven't been able to find any decent sites for comparing laptop processors and I have 3 decent looking laptops in my price range. Which one would be the best out of this lot?
I can get the first 2 at 400 quid and the last one is 450. Advent 7113 http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/sto...ory_oid=-27751 COMPAQ F502EU http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...ory_oid=-32063 ADVENT ERC430 http://www.currys.co.uk/martprd/stor...ory_oid=-32063 I usually research myself but have been unable to find anything about laptops in my searches. Cheers. |

Re: Buying advice
Hi,
The Celeron 430 and the Sempron 3400+ are pretty close in performance (BTW, the specs for the Sempron are wrong, it should be 1.8 GHz, 256 KB L2 cache). The GeForce Go 6150 will be much better than the GMA 950, so I would go with that. Even if you won't be gamming, the CPU speed difference won't be noticeable (unless you plan on doing things like floating point calculations or other similar calculations). If you can afford this laptop, I think you should get it, it has a better processor and graphics than all of those choices. Good for light gamming. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_.../version-1.asp This is another good laptop with lesser graphics but dual core power. A much better choice for multitasking. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Lenov.../version-1.asp
