Which Laptop to buy?

Hello Everyone. I am looking to buy a new laptop in the coming week but i am confused at which brand to go for. i like acer, dell and lenovo but i don't know whether they are reliable or not. my price range is around 900- 1000 $. can someone please guide as to which brand i should buy as i am a starter and not a tech savy. Thanks

It really depends on what you want to do. Are you looking for a desktop replacement, Ultraportable, are you constantly on the go?

if you buy anything buy it with the best videocard you can as it is very hard to upgrade (ram is easyly upgradeable)

Actually, the video card may or not be that important. If you want to be a gamer on the go, then you're looking at spending major bucks for paltry performance. Just keep in mind that laptops are NOT good for gaming. I own an Acer and a ThinkPad and love them both. The Acer was inexpensive and works great. The ThinkPad is small and powerful. Both take the beatings I give by carting them all over and keep going.

I have finally decided which one to buy. Lenovo 3000 N100. the specs are as follows. intel core duo 1.83, ghz. 512mb 667mhz ram, Intel Gma 950 224 mb graphic card, 1.3 mp camera, 80 Gb hard disk, 15.4 inch lcd. Howz this for a laptop?

You should see about getting the memory bumped up to at least 1GB.
