Advent Laptop Battery question

Hello. My laptop is an Advent 7113. Can people tell me what kind of length their batteries last for? I've only just bought this one and it seems it is an hour and a half at the very most. Does that seem odd?

That is about right for a fast laptop with a 15"+ screen.
There may be replacement batteries that will give you more time.
Also, how are your power settings set?

there at default really i havent really looked as still gettin used to the way vista works. Have you got any tips?

Set your power scheme to Home/Office Desk if it isn't already so you will enable CPU throttling. Also, if you really need to max out the battery, set the scheme to Minimal power management. This will make things like gaming not work well, but for internet browsing and such, it will be fine.

Certain models allow you to pick up 12-cell batteries which can increase the life by upto an hour, my laptop only lasts for an hour but then again its only on a 6-cell battery. The power scheme makes a huge difference to performance and battery life.

Is that on the standard battery? Wow, that is long, I only get a half hour.
