Screen size small after going dim

I posted about three weeks ago regarding my HP Pavilion zv5000 series laptop screen going black. (Apparently, it was so dim I couldn't see the image... Hooking up an external monitor was successful.) About a week or so ago, the laptop screen spontaneously starting working again, as bright as normal. However, the displayed screen size is about 1.5" too small on the left and right sides, and about 1/4" smaller on the top and bottom of the screen (aka there's a significant black border around the displayed image).

Any ideas about how to fix this, or am I just lucky the screen started working again? Thanks!
