Internal fan

I have an Acer aspire 5102WLMI

I think I screwed the fan because I used it on my bed a lot of times :(
I'm such a noob, but the fan still moves at least, tough its only like 20% of what it used to be.
so it does not bring out the heat liek before?
does that mean it can overheat?
how much time could it ake before doing so?
am I screwed?
I already sent an e-mail for support and I'm waiting for a response.

Hi,

The fan has a variable speed. When the CPU temperature is below ~ 50 degrees (c), then the fan turns off, and when it is below ~ 60 degrees, then it just goes on low. Check your temps with MobileMeter.

ok it says that its 50 C rigth now, so I guess that is fine...
just anotehr qustion please :)
how hot is dangerous enough for my laptop...or any laptop anyway.

Under full load, your processor should not go above 70 degrees. This is marked as "Temperature" on MobileMeter. If it doesn't, you are fine. If it does, you should look into a cooling pad. You can check your full load temperatures by running a Prime95 torture test for a couple of minutes and watching the temps. There will be a bunch of options for the test, just use the default options. You will notice the fan go on high, but if the temps stay below 70 degrees, you are fine.
