Toshiba Portege M200 - Does not startup

The laptop "Toshiba Portege M200" suddenly stopped starting up. When I try to start it up (put the power button to "On"), nothing happens at all... No light, screen is blank... When I put AC to the laptop, I see lights of "Cord" and "Battery" but nothing else happens when i try to start it up.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to TSF. At any point in time, do you see any of the three (Cord, On or Battery) indicators flash orange? This would indicate an unseated video card. Otherwise, it is probably your motherboard.

Thanks for writing.

The light status is as follow after connecting the laptop with power outlet:

Power Cord : Green light
On : no light
Battery : Orange light
Hard disk : no light
Wireless : no light

There is no flashing for any of the lights. the light status remain same even after pressing the power button to on and no sound. It behaves kind of dead expect these two lights.

Sorry for not replying on time. I could not get to this until now.

Sound's like the Caps

There should be 2-3 metal Cap's on the mb check to see if any of them have a bad solder joint.
One of the only times you cannot get power to the board but charing ok would be a cold solder joint that eventually breaks.
