Dell LCD Issue

I have an inspiron 8600 and have had it connected to an external monitor for the past few months. Yesterday I got a new desktop and disconnected my laptop from the monitor and booted up using the LCD and all I got was black screen. I can faintly see whats on the screen but, very faintly. Do I have a bad LCD?

Do you have another computer available in which you can test the new LCD? If not, look in the monitor's manual for contrast and brightness settings, perhaps these are set low and need to be adjusted.

Hi,

You probably have the laptop display turned off.

Thid is notmally a FN + key function

Check the manual

It will describe how to switch this over.

If this doesn't work your laptop monitor back-lightmay have failed.

cjessee Uh oh. Join Date: Aug 2005 Location: Ohio Posts: 794 OS: Windows NT/2000/XP, Dictaphone, Windows 2003 Server	Do you have another computer available in which you can test the new LCD?
