Re: Overheating problem
Those temps look OK. Did you switch the power scheme in XP like I mentioned in the first post? It should be on Notebook/Laptop. That will make the processor give off less heat.

Re: Overheating problem
Those are the temps when under just browsing and stuff, after about 20 minutes of world of warcraft it will shut down, so the temps get a lot higher you can even feel it if you touch the computer. I changed the power settings but ti doesn't help because its not like I leave the computer on and leave, I am on it.

Re: Overheating problem
Is your fan working on the laptop (not the cooling pad)?

Re: Overheating problem
It may be time to reapply some thermal paste. Usually you don't have to do this with laptops which is why I am surprised.
How dusty is the laptop? I know I already mentioned dusting out the laptop, but when you did dust it, did you blow the air into the vents on the side? That is always a good idea.

Re: Overheating problem
I would go to an office or electronics/computer store and and buy a can of compressed air.
Open up all the bottom panels of the laptop. You will need a small philips screwdriver. Once the panels are removed, hold the can upright and point the straw it comes with down toward the components. Give a good blast of air to blow out all the dust. Then, while the laptop is still upside down and the panels are open, give a good blast of air into all the side vents while holding the can upright. Some dust should come out the top. Its OK if the fans spin when you are dusting them.
