[SOLVED] PCMCIA "Extender" to make use of both slot
I have a Thinkpad with 2 PCMCIA slots, but I can't fit 2 cards because they are too thick (the wireless card antenna and the firewire card ports). Is there any way to "extend" one of the cards out from the slot so that I can hook it in (only need it at home)?
Thanks!!! |

Hi,
I've seen this asked recently on another forum. No solution was offered. What features do the two PCMCIA cards you wish to use offer or provide. There are combination PCMCIA cards available these days offering more than one feature. Combination PCI cards for desktops have been around for a whjile, they are now creeping into the latop market. You might also consider a docking station if one is available for your laptop. This may help with additional USB ports. You may also be able to add the missing feature by means of a USB device. hth Ceri Last edited by ceri sheeran; 01-01-2007 at 11:39 AM. |

You could pick up a USB/Firewire hub like one of these:
