That laptop takes DDR533 PC4200 RAM. Right now it has 2 x 256 MB. You will be wanting two of these:

If you ever have questions about laptop RAM, take a look at this.

The other memory module is under the keyboard. You will have to remove the keyboard to access it.

The DDR667 RAM would only run at DDR533 speeds, so it wouldn't make any difference at all. But if it happens to be cheaper than the DDR533 RAM, then go for it.

Re: laptop Memory

I upgraded my RAM to 2GB with no problem. Purchased the sticks from the following.
http://www.newegg.com:80/Product/Pro...82E16820134134

It's Kingston RAM and have had no problem thus far. Removing the keyboard is a piece of cake. I used the online service manual available here.
http://www.geneseo.edu/~stratton/D61...nual/index.htm

Best of luck!
