Laptop Shuts Down after Logo display

I have a Micro Pro Laptop running Windows XP Home. When it boots up the Windows XP Home logo comes on the screen and sits for about 5 seconds then the laptop will turn off. Any ideas where to start looking for the problem?

Hi Doug,

The first thing I would try is booting in safe mode. If that doesn't work, I would start suspecting heat. Since you can't get into Windows, try leaving the laptop off for awhile, (maybe 1/2 hour) and then trying it again. If you can manage to get into Windows, download MobileMeter from my sig and post the temps. If not, you could also try looking around in the BIOS (press F2 or Del when the manufacturer logo appears).
