keyboard probs

Hello..

My sisters laptop has a problem, typing hello results in he336

Now I know enough about computers to make my own systems yet laptops are a different creature to me... horrible little things!!!!!

After doing a keypress test we found that M J K L I O P 8 9 0 when pressed gave 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 0.... (thats why im typing n sending this for her)

Is it something simple like numlock or some laptop specific key being pressed to give keypad function on the keyboard?!? how do we solve it?!?!

A simple question with a simple answer i assume..

Many thanks

Rob

This is because laptops have no number pad, so it uses an option which changes the letters to numbers. If you see clearly there should be numbers somewhere on your keys: (etc.M would have a 1 near it)
All you have to do is find the combination key to dis activate this.
For me it is Fn+F11. Try all the top F keys while holding on the Fn key.
