Disabling Keyboard
I have a laptop (without a docking station) that I am trying to use as a desktop. I am having trouble disabling the laptop keyboard and getting it to recognize a keyboard that I hooked up by USB by default. I can go into device manager and uninstall the laptop keyboard driver and use the USB keyboard but it reinstalls itself upon restart. Is there anything that I can do to disable the laptop keyboard?

Hi,
If you are using the USB keyboard, you won't need to disable the keyboard on the laptop. Just plug it into the USB port, and Windows should recognize it.

I did and it still recognizes the laptop keyboard first. I actually have a PS/2(?) to USB adaptor for the keyboard. Does that make a difference?

If the USB keyboard is plugged into the laptop, then it should work at the same times as the laptop keyboard, in the same way that a USB mouse and the touchpad can both work together. Does it? I don't think I am fully understanding what you are saying. What do you mean by "its recognizing the laptop keyboard first"?
