IS there a way to upgrade my laptop graphics card?
I have a stock toshiba Satellite m45-s265
using a mobile Intel(R) 915GM/GMS,910GML Express Chipset Family graphics card i don't have enough money to buy a new computer but i really wanted to play a new game i purchased which requires 64mb of videoram. can anyone tell me a way to upgrade? |

Hi,
Since that is an integrated, card, it cannot be upgraded, but you can increase the amount of shared video RAM in the BIOS. On boot, tap F2, Esc, or whatever button it says to push to enter setup. Look around and for video memory. It should be able to go to 64 and mabye 128 MB. Your game will also run better if you have more RAM, 1 GB is a good amount.

If your laptop has a graphics chip with dedicated VRAM then the only normal option is for adjusting the AGP arpeture. I can't spell that word. That won't give an immediate boost as it only uses the RAM when necessary.
Also, system RAM works MUCH slower than dedicated VRAM.

Toshiba's BIOSs don't have those kinds of options. The 'Express' series of chipsets also cannot be upgraded or increased in any way... Sorry, man
