Mouse Issues

Hello,

Problem is a dell inspiron (8200?) something like that.

It has a mouse pluged into it. The problem is the mouse keeps moving to the start button corner of the desktop. You can move the mouse up, but it will move right back down and fight you.

My best guess is the onboard touch mouse is overridding the pluged in mouse and telling the cursor to move to that corner for some strange reason. However you can move the cursor with the touch screen and it works just like the ps2 mouse and gets fought too so that may not be the case.

The person said it was working fine for a long time until yesterday and they dont know of anything that might have caused the problem.

Drivers have been deleted and reinstalled, all updated etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does it go to the start button or the corner of the screen?

Does it happen with the PS2 mouse disconnected, Using the touch pad only?
(DO NOT CONNECT OR DISCONNECT THE PS2 MOUSE WITH THE SYSTEM TURNED ON!!!)

Have you tried the mouse on another PC??
