hi, I think a lot of us will recognise this. When you get the error message, past the info you posted and towards the bottom of the screen there should be a file name. If so, post back with what it is or google it. This file name will indicate where the problem is. The problem may be caused by a corrupt driver file. Post back and let us know whether or not you found the name of the file and we can go from there.

sorry, should have added this. Have a look in device manager as well, and see if anything listed there has a yellow exclamation mark on it.

no there's NOTHING wrong with the drivers

there shouldn't normally be one because the laptop was formatted and the recovery cd was installed with all the drivers in it!
I UPDATED EVERY DRIVER! EVEN THE BIOS!
and there's not any file name
JUST SOMETHING ABOUT VIRTUAL MEMORY DUMP!

tap f8 when booting and from the options try
last known good configuration
if no good selct safe mode, before it goes into safe mode it usually asks if you would like to doa system restore
try the restore to the oldest restore point that you have

are you sure the error uses the term "virtual" memory dump? generally the message is "memory dump" only

Stop 0x0a messages are generated by a lot of different issues, but i don't recall there being a virtual memory error

Click start>administrative tools>event viewer (also in control panel>administrative tools)

Once you’re their, click on the "View Tab"-Add/remove columns-make sure date, time, type, source, category, event columns are visible, newest first,

In left pane, click any entry. In rite pane, rite click any entry, select properties and it will give you an error message or information message.

do you have an xp cd to perform a repair install.

I sent you to the link at which you got lost because there are so many possibilities for the error message you received and absolutely no indication of what to try. Maybe a repair install will do it. repair install unless you already did so
