Dell 5100 problem

Hello All,

I recently bought a dell 5100 inspiron. When I turned it on it came to a screen that said something to the effect of " LOSING VIDEO MEMORY" ... then the screen got all colorful. I shut down and rebooted, went into BIOS, and walked away from computer and came back and it was frozen. Then I shutdown and tried to reboot....now I have no video, the computer appears to turn on as I can hear the fan running and lights on base go on. I have tested the VIDEO CARD, LCD SCREEN, and MEMORY...all tested good. Any insight as to what the problem might be? New motherboard? Any info would be great,

Thanx in advance,

Thanx for the reply, unfortunately this is not under warrenty. I just didnt want to spend any more money on it unless I knew for sure it would be the fix...I guess replacing the m/b is the ultimate fix as everything else tested good. Hopefully i can grab one cheap enough! hehe Thanx again for the reply!

Even if it's not under warranty, if there is a known issue with boards on this model you may still be entitled to a replacement. It's free to ask.
