Mistake ASUS M6000 - Windows XP Freezes

Hi all,

Recently purchased new DVD Writer (internal) for ASUS M6000 notebook. When inserting the drive into slot then windows freezes, remove the drive and I am able to successfully boot and work in windows, any ideas as to what could be causing this, I threw the away the old CD Writer drive as it was doing exactly the same thing and I thought it's possible the drive, but now appears to be something else. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks
Craig

Suprised

Hi OMGmissinglink

I purchased the drive from a ASUS supplier in Auckland NZ, it'san original ASUS DVD Drive, as mentioned my old CD Writer I had was doing the same thing, so I thought cause it's giving problems I will upgrade to a DVD Writer, but now I realise that it's not the drive, I suspect it could be mobo related.
Your thoughts??

Craig
