HP, metal constructed cases more solid laptop.

This seems like a nice unit also although 512 boost in ram will help.

yah I didnt see that one wasnt made out of metal. They both seem like pretty good laptops for the price.
I'm going to update the RAM myself when I get my next check. Thanks!

The one I've posted has other features the other does not, also which ever one you decide to get make sure you get the "reinstall disks".

The HPs generally have a plastic shell with a magnesium alloy casing. They're excellent in durability amongst those specific selections. The Acer is a good notebook, but will have shared memory. While the Acer has the advantage of a 100GB hard drive, the one that OMGmissinglink has provided is a far better machine for the price. For a laydown: It is a Turion 64 @ 1.8 GHz (3000 or 3200+ i believe) with 512 MB of RAM and dedicated 128MB of VRAM. That laptop will perform excellently. Not to mention that massive 17" screen. Excellent find!
