im looking for a cheap laptop

hi i was wondering if anyone knew where or what computer i could get with my specifications, i wanna start out by saying that i want a laptop just to use with my band, to run a music program that i use to patch my midi keyboard through, and all i want is a really really cheap laptop with maybe 5 gigs tops of space, just enough to put the program on it. these are the specifications for the program

# Intel Pentium III 600 MHz or better
# G4 or G5 processor (if its a mac)
# 256 MB RAM
# 2 GB free hard disk space
# CD-ROM drive
# Windows XP/2000 or later
# Monitor with 800x600 pixels resolution or better
# 16-bit windows compatible audio card, preferably with DirectX or ASIO drivers
and i want a usb port to connect my midi keyboard,

i understand this is pretty weird but if anyone could help id appriciate it, thanks

How much is your budgit?
If you are using music programs, I would suggest that you have a bit more ram, 256MB isn't really going to be enough, for anyone, 256MB isn't really enough for Windows XP anyway.
Something like this: http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/Acer_.../version-1.asp (UK) would be good, but then you should upgrade the memory. Or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834115251 (USA)

You may want to bump up the memory if your going to run XP or 2K. At least 512MB.

I bought a PIII - 900Mhz refurbished ThinkPad from Tigerdirect for just $411 (shipping included in that). It has a 30GB HDD, 256MB of RAM, 8MB video, 14.1" 1024x768 screen (incredibly sharp and detailed!!), DVD-ROM and is ready to be docked. It came preloaded with Windows 98 but can easily run XP or 2K.

I'm letting my room mate use it for his programming homework and he hasn't had a single problem with it. We popped in a wireless NIC so it goes online just fine.

Check out these:

http://www.usanotebook.com/IBM_display_page.php <- Start near the bottom of the page for this one.

http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/

XP should be running with at least 512MB of RAM, but 256 is OK (just pushing it...)
